What Expectations Can I Have During the Treatment?

You’ll start by discussing the treatment and your medical history during your consultation. A thin layer of gel will be applied to your skin after the consultation. The laser handpiece will be directed over the subject vein. In many cases this will disappear after a single pass.

Is It a Painful Treatment

Depending on the size and location of the vein, the pain varies. The laser pulse is described as feeling like the snap of a rubber band against your skin. Your physician may offer an anesthetic gel to help reduce the pain as there can be moderate discomfort. 

What Expectations Can I Have Following Each Treatment?

In a few cases, the region that has been treated will be slightly swollen and tender to touch for a day or two. It will resemble a “cat scratch” that can sometimes persist for a few weeks. You may be asked to avoid wearing sunscreen and heavy exercise after treatment. You’ll be provided with detailed instructions following your treatment.
